MARIALEJANDRA LOZANO
Marialejandra Lozano Suárez de Freitas (Lima,1990)
Vive y trabaja como docente y artista plástica en Lima. Graduada en el 2013 con la Medalla de Oro de la escuela de Artes Visuales Corriente Alterna.
A partir de una metodología interdisciplinaria trabaja sus proyectos en medios como la pintura, la instalación y el ensamblaje. Su obra gira en torno a la representación simbólica de personajes, sucesos (históricos o cotidianos) y a la reinterpretación de conceptos que por lo general están asociados a la memoria, la identidad y el territorio.
Sus muestras individuales incluyen "De lo viral a la plástica" en la Galería Impakto en el año 2021, “La Constelación” en enero del 2016 en la Galería Impakto premiada con el Premio Luces de El Comercio a mejor muestra de pintura del año, también exhibida en el Centro Cultural Peruano-Británico sede San Juan de Lurigancho a finales del 2015.
Ha participado en muestras colectivas como "Relaciones peligrosas " en el Museo Génaro Pérez de Coroba,Argentina,"Invasión Británica" en la sala John Harriman del Centro Cultural Peruano-Británico¨; ¨Transversal¨ con Galería CeDe; "Contenido Temporal" en la Galería Forum; “Ex- Libris” en la Galería Impakto; “Pintoras” en la sala Victor Humareda en el Museo de Arte San Marcos; “ Lithium” en la Galería Gonzalez y Gonzalez ; “La Potencia de lo Falso” en la Galería Juan Pablo Hereen del ICPNA; “Oktubre” en la sala Raúl Porras Barrenechea del Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma, entre otras.
Entre sus distinciones está haber sido finalista del XVII Concurso Nacional de Artes Visuales “Pasaporte para un Artista” organizado por la Alianza Francesa, así como del Concurso de Arte por la Amistad Peruano Africana organizado por la Embajada de Sudáfrica, la Embajada de Egipto y la Escuela de Artes Visuales Corriente Alterna.
Su obra forma parte de colecciones privadas importantes de Lima, Londres y Nueva York.

Using an interdisciplinary approach, she works with paintings, instalations and assemblage. Her work revolves around the symbolic representation of characters, (historical or everyday events) and the reinterpretations of concepts generally associated with memory, identity, and territory.
Her solo shows include Painting from Viral in June 2021, Imoakto Gallery.The Constellation in January, 2016, in Impakto Gallery, awarded with the Luces Award from El Comercio in the category of Best painting exposition of the year. It was also exhibited in the Peruvian-British Cultural Center in San Juan de Lurigancho in 2015.
She has participated in numerous collective expositions such as "Relaciones peligrosas" in the Museum Genaro PErez in Cordoba,Argentina,“Invasion Britanica” in the John Harriman Hall of the Peruvian-British Cultural Center, “Trasnversal” in CeDe Art Gallery; "Contenido Temporal" in Forum Art Gallery; “Ex- Libris” in Impakto Gallery; “Pintoras” in The Victor Humareda Hall of the Museum of Art of San Marcos; “ Lithium” in the Gonzalez & Gonzalez Art Gallery ; “La Potencia de lo Falso” in The “Juan Pablo Hereen” Hall of the Cultural Center ICPNA; “Oktubre” in The “Raúl Porras Barrenechea” Hall of the Cultural Center “Ricardo Palma”, among others.
Among her distinctions are having been finalist of the XVII National Contest of Visual Arts “Pasaporte para un Artista”, organized by the “Alianza Francesa” and the French Embassy, as well as the Art Contest for the “Amistad Peruano Africana”, organized by the South African Embassy, the Egypt Embassy and the School of Fine and Visual Arts “Corriente Alterna”.
Marialejandra’s artworks form part of important private collections of Lima, London and New York.
